Taos Pueblo Artists Contemporary Artists Daniel V. Suazo - Woodworker Standing Antelope Design Woodworks Daniel Suazo (Standing Antelope), a 34-year-old native of Taos Pueblo, is a self-employed woodworker and custom furniture designer/builder who has incorporated his artistic ability and native roots into his woodworking, creating a unique style of his own which he calls "Uniquely Taos Pueblo." Hand carving (gouging) many of his pieces, whether it be Pueblo style picture frames, a cedar lined jewelry box with tray, a elk design coffee table with a glass top; kitchen and bathroom cabinets or swinging bar doors (see photos), Daniel's use of Pueblo designs, various plants/animals and selection of color make each S.A.D.W. piece a work of art. S.A.D.W. works with the customer to ensure their satisfaction whether it be hand painted hanging ornaments, jewelry boxes, picture frames, carved mirrors, shelves, chairs, tables, cabinets or custom furniture. S.A.D.W. was selected as one of the artists to be featured in Su Casa Magazine, in its edition of Furniture Artisans of Taos. This magazine promotes inter-decorating of the southwest. His work has also appeared in articles in the Albuquerque Journal and the Tempo section of the Taos News. Daniel has designed furniture for many Taos businesses including the Taos Mountain Casino. Standing Antelope Design Woodworks is located at 232 Paseo del Pueblo Sur in Taos, New Mexico, 575 737 0963. Come and place your order today! Or call for a piece that will last a lifetime.
